About

Founded in the East Bay in 1982 by union carpenter, construction manager and developer Bill Peacock, Peacock Construction expanded into San Francisco in 1990 and quickly became known for our experience in both tenant and capital improvements and healthcare facilities, a highly technical area with strict operating guidelines. Bill's son Kyle took over as CEO in 2012 and Bill retired 2013.

Today, Peacock Construction is comprised of a well-trained, collaborative team, —including signatory contractors for the Carpenters Union—of self-performing problem solvers. Our ability to keep work in-house, helps us coordinate seamlessly with our subs, and ultimately reduces the overall project cost for the client. We maintain established and trusted relationships with City inspectors and are well-versed in permit procurement in our various jurisdictions. This integrated approach sets Peacock Construction apart from most general contractors in our industry.

Here at Peacock Construction, we take a hands-on, solution-based approach to our work. That means our onsite superintendents and foremen actively participate in construction as needed, offering project management solutions with their own carpentry services. Whether that involves doors, frames & hardware, metal studs and drywall, mill work, finish carpentry, or carpentry assist, our employees are all able to pivot and self-perform.

Safety Rating

Safety is Peacock Construction’s first thought in everything we do. Our safety program is our promise to you that we are committed to protecting the well-being of each person on any given project, ranging from our construction team to your staff and operations.

Peacock Construction maintains an active, performance-based safety program that inspires employees to make safe choices and decisions based on hazard evaluations. Our management provides direction, leadership, oversight, and active engagement to assure that the safety program/process is integrated into the company operations as a core value. Employees are encouraged to be actively involved in the safety program and to take the time to safely plan their work activities.

COVID-19 Safety Protocol

In addition to complying with our clients’ rules and regulations, each worker visiting the jobsite will check in upon arrival using our proprietary application for safe site check-in. This application uses a preassigned QR code which will be attached to the wall in a mutually agreed upon location adjacent to the work area. The QR code is scanned using the worker’s mobile device and provides the General Contractor with a detailed contact tracing report for each workday. This contact tracing procedure is a proven and reliable process that allows all parties to be notified if an exposure event occurs.

  • Our decades of experience in life science construction began with one of our longest-standing partners, Abbott Laboratories (formerly Thoratec). Over the years, we have performed everything from simple service work requests to full-floor build-outs, as well as several labs, and we have developed an intimate knowledge of their critical operational process to ensure successful construction projects.

    Our success in this space is largely attributed to an understanding of all stakeholder requirements, attention to detail, nimble operations, and knowledge of the complex, integrated systems required for processing and production. Projects include R&D laboratories, cleanrooms, pilot plants, classrooms, educational laboratories, etc.

    General Contracting is Peacock’s specialty. With over 40 years of experience building in the San Francisco Bay Area, our team members are experts at meeting and exceeding the expectations of our clients. We pride ourselves in creating detailed estimates and executing projects from start to finish as our client’s dedicated project partner, regardless of the size of project. We take a hands-on approach in the field and are able to self perform work when needed.     Our design build services provide a collaborative approach to each project, with our integrated team working together to ensure accountability and alignment of the entire construction process. From design and development to project construction and completion, our designers and architects collaborate with the build team to deliver an outcome that is on-time and on-budget.

  • Pre-Construction

    The pre-construction process determines the trajectory of a construction project. Our team takes extra care to ensure that we engage with all of our partners early in the project. We prepare budgets and offer value engineering suggestions early in the process, without impacting the design intent.
